USSLT's policy is to remove the existing energy-wasting HID ballast system (magnetic or electronic) and recycle these components. In most markets the recycle value can approach $5 per ballast system and this can provide additional revenue and increase the ROI.

Compare the “system watts” HID v LED. The ballast wattage alone of an HID fixture can be 50% of the total LED lamp system watts. Case in point: System Watts of a 400w Metal Halide = 455w; the USSLT-250400 replacement LED lamp system watts = 107w. The 55 ballast watts alone = more than 50% of total system watts of the LED...Compelling, SIMPLE and ballast removal leads to higher ROI!

*The Per Bulb Maintenance & Ballast per Month for an HID Fixture is based on a 5-year ballast life. No cost was attributed to the LED Lamp or power supply/LED driver system (the LED Ballast). When viewing the L70 report for the life rating of the LED lamp this is done as a full operating unit. In most cases the “light engine” will operate without maintenance for 50,000 hours or more, however, in this same period a HID bulb may be replaced 2-3 or more times in this same period. Generally, the HID ballast is also replaced within this same period at least once and in some cases twice over the operating period in comparison to the LED light engine.
